Redesign for Spring!

I.  “De-winterize”  ... De-Clutter

• Pull out anything that “speaks” cold

• Put away any winter-like items:

• Pillows
• Throws, afghans, winter comforters
• Old magazines, newspapers
• Pine cones, wreaths, winter arrangements, Christmas leftovers
• Fireplace wood & tools
• Old candles
• Winter clothes, coats in closet

• Clean under furniture
• Dust baseboards
• Clean off tables
• Dust fan blades

II.  Re-energize, refresh your room

• Open the windows
• Let the sunshine in—wash the windows
• Wash exterior doors/glass
• Wash light bulbs
• Paint the inside of a plastic shade, pink!
• Refresh plants—dust and water—or repot
• Clean your mirrors
• Add mirrors to reflect the light
• Remove heavy drapes; replace with shears or simply wrap the rod with rope, jute, silk or any light fabric that complements your summer “feeling”.
• Change out your area rugs with a natural fiber eg. jute, hemp, wood-block, bamboo, braided
• Replace your old lamp shades with new ones
• Add color
• Remove color—add white
